Brigitte Sannemüller was born in Berlin in 1941. Since 2019, she has participated in various courses taught by renowned artists. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kolbermoor (2021-2023), she graduated with a diploma from Gabriele Musebrink. She has lived and worked in Frickenhausen, near Nürtingen, since 2001. Brigitte Sannemüller’s works consist primarily of abstract material paintings. She finds her palette and inspiration directly in nature: for example, she uses marble powder, lime putty, casein, pigments, egg tempera, plaster of Paris, glue, coffee, and sand. Depending on the subject, these create interesting structures, which she either attaches to lokta paper and canvas in the form of relief-like fossils or applies directly to the prepared canvas with a squeegee in several layers. Like this, she continues historical painting techniques in the modern era. The artist starts her works with an inward look at her feelings and thoughts, which she then visibly turns outward: Working with her hands again produces within her an inner balance, a genuine joy in existence, and a sense of calm within herself, which she shares with the world through her creations. Her works are manifestations of a more or less intuitive process that integrates life experiences, ruptures and awakenings, tensions, and the ability to let go into abstract creations, which rediscover life in a magical way. The wide range of possible interpretations are an offer to the viewers of her works. She compares her paintings to Van Gogh’s saying: “The human heart is very similar to the sea. It has storms, it has its tides, and in the depths, it also has its pearls.” Brigitte Sannemüller has been exhibiting regularly since 2022. Since 2025, she has been represented internationally by LDXArt Gallery.
