Wolfgang Dürr

Coming Wolfgang Dürr was born in Ansbach in 1967. After studying philosophy in Würzburg (1988-92), he completed training at the State Academy for Photo Design in Munich from 1994 to 1997. Until 2017 he worked as a photographer with a focus on documentary and architectural photography. Since 2020, he has been a freelance artist and concentrated exclusively on his own projects in the field of photography. Currently, Wolfgang Dürr is primarily concerned with nature. The photographer uses his camera with motion sensors to capture wildlife in their natural environment. While conventional wildlife photography strives to capture the biological uniqueness of animals in as much detail and as true to life as possible, his artistic interest lies in other dimensions of vision. His evaluations and post-processing of the images reveal the magic, the mysticism, the intangible and inexpressible, in short the meta-physics: The scenes appear as if a fog casts its spell of whitish-dark plays of light and shadow over the protagonists, i.e. the animals and plants. The magic of the world is revealed in the image and shows the viewer’s eye other layers of life as a result of a co-production of technology, movements of nature as well as the artist’s aesthetic sensitivity and selection. To date, Wolfgang Dürr has exhibited primarily in German-speaking countries and Italy. Since 2024 he has been represented internationally by the LDXArtodrome Gallery..
