Tanja Oppel

Biography

Tanja Oppel was born in Ansbach in 1986. From 2007 to 2011, she studied communication design at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg. She then worked for three years as an art director in Frankfurt am Main. Since 2015, she has run her own design studio, Studio Pala, as a freelance communication designer. Between 2017 and 2020, she taught “Fundamentals of Design” at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg. The artist lives and works in Würzburg. Tanja Oppel’s artistic work is often motivated by political or social critique. Her primary goal is to convey inspiration for utopias and a better future through positive messages in written and artistic representation. Furthermore, in word-image compositions, she explores interpersonal relationships as a tense web of relationships and the complexity of hidden longings and desires. The clear focus of her concise word fragments is important to her. These give her audience the opportunity to create their own interpretations and develop their own visions of the future. She thus strengthens everyone’s awareness and recognition of their own creative potential, thus seeing themselves less as victims of society and more as social creators. Thus, her works are idealistic calls to everyone to make the world a little better through their own initiative. Tanja Oppel has primarily exhibited in the Würzburg area to date. LDXArt Gallery has represented her internationally since 2025.
