Hanna Hartig

Biography

Hanna Hartig was born on June 1, 1984, in Cottbus. Since 2004, she has worked as a bank clerk at one of Germany’s largest banks. She is also an artist and lives and works in Cottbus. Hanna Hartig often uses broad brushes for her oil or acrylic paints, which she applies to canvas with an expressive brushstroke. She prefers bright colors that further emphasize the emotional expression of her painting technique. Her motifs often reflect the emotional world of an innocent childhood in contrast to the harsh adult world: She contrasts this value-distorted world, for example, with her large-format teddy bears and animal motifs, which evoke many positive associations and memories in the viewer. Another series focuses on portraits, which do not depict specific people but rather express specific moods and feelings such as anger or pain. Another series features freestyle paintings that sometimes show some similarity to graffiti with their lettering and line drawings. Her fourth series is dedicated to purely abstract painting. Hanna Hartig has primarily exhibited her works in Germany. Since 2025, she has been represented internationally by LDXArt Gallery.
